Lip blushing can be a great solution for those looking to add more natural looking color to their lips without using lipstick. It can create a fuller-looking pout by outlining and defining your lips. The procedure is done with special pigments designed for the lips, with a permanent makeup tattooing machine to deposit the pigment onto the lips.
This procedure is great for those looking to reduce their morning routine and help them feel put together 24/7.
So let's discuss the procedure.
1. How long does it last?
Usually, anywhere from 2-3 years, depending on the person's pigment retention, lifestyle choices such as smoking or low iron intake or retention can lead to early fading.
2. Does it hurt?
Typically no, it doesn't hurt because a topical numbing cream is applied, but you could feel slight discomfort or pressure depending on your pain tolerance threshold.
3. Is it safe?
Yes, it is when done by a certified professional. However, there are risks to every procedure, such as swelling, scarring, or allergic reactions. With someone who isn't a certified professional, the risk increase to things like infections of blood born illnesses like Hepatitis B and C, and HIV. This is why we can't stress enough the importance of going to a certified permanent makeup artist.
4. How long does it take to heal?
Early healing takes about 10-14 days, but the entire healing process isn't typically finished till around 4 weeks.
5. How do I know what shade is right for me?
Your specialist will sit down with you to analyze your undertones and determine what shades look best by trying on lip shades before the treatment. Once you've, you've chosen the shade and shape to enhance your natural lips, the technician will proceed.
6. What does aftercare look like?
You can ice your lips to decrease swelling if you'd like, and blot the lips to clean them with a wet cotton pad, then let them air dry. However, more than anything, we recommend you let your body do its natural healing process and leave your lips alone. Whatever you do, make sure NEVER to pick or peel off scabs, as that can lead to scarring.
After the lip procedure is over and your lips are healed, enjoy your beautiful blushed lips.
